During the first two reigns he was instrumental in the creation of Royal Patronage and of the Noble Estate. It was in his second reign that he formed a treaty with the Kingdom of Ansteorra to adopt the Order of the White Scarf for An Tir. He has put renewed emphasis on fealty during all of his reigns, with an effort to better reflect a period model. His most memorable event was his first in AS XV, when Strider and Catherine, then King and Queen of the West, came to Borealis. It was at this event that he received his first Award of Arms.. Dux Darius' persona is early sixth century Romano-British. He and his family and household have an estate near Glevum, where they try to keep the best qualities and ideals of the Roman era alive in the face of the onrushing dark ages. He and his Lady strive to forge a truce between that which is Roman in origin and that which is British. Bred of Patrician blood, but born on the island outpost after the Romans had already withdrawn, Dux Darius is happy to make his home in Britain, with his Celt lady beside him On a more personal note, Darius loves all things Roman and Romano-British, and likes a good political discussion. He is an avid history buff and wargamer. Games of strategy and skill appeal to him. Darius is a gourmet cook and enjoys recreating recipes from Apicius and other period Italian dishes. His favorite flavours are chocolate and almond, coffee, and marzipan. He enjoys working in wood and leather. Photo by Lisette Bouchard © 2007	Her Excellency Cometessa Nemania Brigans (formerly Morgaine) Countess Goutte de Sang Award of Arms Rose Silver Lily Forget-me-not (x4) Throne Favor Silver Pillar (Tir Righ) Red Flame (Tir Righ)	Nemania (pr: NEH-von-yeh) is a Countess of An Tir and reigned with her Lord husband Dux Darius Corvinus, under her old name of Morgaine. Cometessa Nemania is from the tribe of the Brigantes, who ruled a large kingdom in the north surrounding Eboracum, later known as Jorvik or York. She now lives in a villa in the South with her Lord, where they form the centre of a colony of people who have banded together to share their strength and knowledge as a community. Darius has a son, Corvyn. Nemania has a son, Jared. Their children together are: son Darius II; daughter Chloe; and youngest son Gideon. Nemania has chosen to change her name to a period documentable one as a furtherance of her personal commitment to be increasingly authentic in her historical recreation. Nemania sews as a profession, hobby and necessity. She appreciates fine costuming, and is interested in talking to others with a love for early period garb. She has worked with the textile arts all her life, and has or wants to dabble in most of them before she's through. Her ultimate goal in this arena - one day- is to weave coptic tunics with segementae. She is also very interested in mosaic, and would like to pursue a bit more of this too. Her favorite things are: being with friends and family, the smell of new babies, good strong coffee, linen and silk, music, musk and amber scent. Her personal badge is a crescent moon, usually silver, facing right, like a 'c'. Her colors are black, red, silver and gold. Her current wish: for an extension of the day, so that she might find sufficient hours in which to do all she'd like to, all she has to, and maybe sleep a little. Oh - and world peace, except at SCA wars. Device: Sable semy of decrescents argent, a torch Or enflamed gules, and in chief a coronet.
Photo courtesy Herb Olafsson © 2006	Maîtresse Yolande Chastellain Pelican Goutte de Sang Award of Arms Forget-me-not Raven's Blood (Tir Righ) Silver Pillar (Tir Righ) Princess' Talon of Favour (x4) (Tir Righ) Lions Claw (Lions Gate) Baroness' Champion of Service (Lions Gate) Magistrae Ithra	Maîtresse Yolande is a lady-in-waiting in the household of the Duke and Duchess of Burgundy in Dijon, France in the year 1453. She is a lady-in-waiting to the duchess, assists with the duties of the chamberlain and often travels with the ducal court. Some time ago, her Lord husband Lucullus (an Englishman) was thrown from his horse and hit his head on a rock, and now he thinks that he is part of the Romano-British army circa 500 AD. Originally Yolande altered her clothing and re-created this time period simply to humour her Lord, but has since found that she quite enjoys the Romano-British era and the ideals it conveys. Her Lord husband is squire to Darius, and as a good wife, Yolande joined her husband in the Darian Household. Yolande has found her raison d'etre as proud mother to her children, Logan and Lydia, and is step-mother to her Lord's son Brandyn. Her first protégé is Her Ladyship Arianna Freemont of the Clan MacBeighn. She enjoys being a lady-in-waiting, autocratting, running the Lists, waterbearing, shopping on merchants row, dancing, watching court, watching combat, Ithra classes, and helping others. Her interests also lie in research, persona development, costuming, period fabrics, spinning, embroidery, calligraphy, and period methods of waterbearing. He enjoys combat and excels at leatherwork. Uncle Ciaracan is also beer maker extraordinare. One of the Sunshine Boys, his lady wife Terpsichore can occasionally be seen at events with him. At Tir Righ September Coronet Tournament 2008, Sir Ciaracan took on his first squire, Fergus. That makes Lady Bolverk "Great Grandma" (Bolverk then Darius then Ciaracan then Fergus).

His Lady is Baroness Kate. It is a good life for a man living in 600 AD. Alex is Liegeman to Darius and squire to Eques Maximus Amoricus. He is the head of the fyrd Britannica. She has a penchant for Black Russians, otters, and the colour blue. Sister to Darius and Auntie to the children, she has strong family ties and is a true friend.

She's a dabbler by nature having done a bit of inkle weaving, embroidery, sewing, Norse wire weaving, charter painting and design, cooking, leatherworking, archery, heavy fighting, and maille making, as well as 'stepping on toes', (aka dancing and usually only when Bernie physically makes her), and she has been known to subject people to her singing voice. Currently she is trying to focus on period garment construction, inkle weaving, and pokes His Grace then runs real fast heavy fighting, with plans to learn tablet weaving, period leather working (yay!! period shoes!!), and explore period scroll design. Her alter-ego is Dana the Sweet who has achieved the rank of "dough" in the Pure Wenching Tart Society. Her daughter is Thora Danasdottir. Device: Sable, a tree eradicated argent and a bordure Or semy of acorns sable.

He participates in heavy combat, is a lefty, and is particularly fond of his spin shot. He enjoys blacksmithing, weaponsmithing, metalwork, leatherwork and making early period armour. Lucullus met his Lady wife Maîtresse Yolande Chastellain at an Autumn War. He has two sons, Brandyn and Logan and a daughter, Lydia.
Photographer unknown	Lady Bianca Lucrezia Award of Arms	More affectionately known as Binky, Bianca is a comrade-in-arms who re-creates the glory of the Imperial Roman Army from an Italian Renaissance perspective. She is an honourary "Sunshine Boy with breasts".

Photographer unknown	Lord Taranus Award of Arms	Taranus is a squire to Darius and is the Signifer (banner bearer) in combat. His daughter Darby can also be seen with him at events. Uncle Taranus is one of the household's Sunshine Boys.
Photo by Kaity Shields © 2008	Lord Aryan the Blind Award of Arms Shattered Spear	Aryan enjoys heavy fighting and is a squire to Darius. He always has a smile on his face, and is father to Janika and Kaitlyn. His lady is Juliana. Uncle Aryan is another of the Sunshine Boys.

His father was a Germanic auxiliary in the Legions, his mother a native Celt. Together with his friends, Aelfwine has found refuge in the Darian Household, and a place as Darius' man-at-arms.
Photo by Mary Larose © 2008	Lord Arminius Scorpius Award of Arms	Arminius was introduced to the SCA by longtime friend Aelfwine Antipater. His first event was Clinton War 2006 where he and Aelfwine met Dux Darius and were fully introduced to the SCA via the Darian Household. Arminius is a squire of Viscount Savaric and enjoys heavy combat and leatherwork. He is currently on vigil for Knighthood.

	Caius Tessarius Flavius	As a squire of Darius', Caius is stationed to an outlying post in the Principality of Avacal.
	Tiberius	Tiberius is stationed to an outlying post in Avacal as squire to Darius. That's probably why he enjoys drinking scotch (outlying posts are notoriously cold!)
	Caelin Varrus	Caelin is a squire to Darius.
	Ursus Uhoflig	Ursus is the newest member of the Darians, as Man-at-Arms to Septimus. He is a left-handed fighter out of the Barony of Montengarde.
	Juliana	Juliana is Lord Aryan's lady.
